FLUGELHORNS

Flugelhorns are considered “doubling” instruments since they are often used for specific pieces or sections of music. They are typically built in the key of B♭ and can be used in almost every style of music ranging from jazz to classical.

Piccolo Trumpet

PICCOLO TRUMPETS

Piccolo trumpets can be found in a number of musical settings, but are frequently used in classical settings. The most obvious characteristic is that a piccolo trumpet is roughly half the size of a B♭ trumpet. Piccolo trumpets are often found in the key of B♭ or A.
