Many various models of trumpet stands have been created to fit both the needs and wants for each trumpet player. These include both models that can fold up for transportation in the bell of your instrument or more robust stands that can hold one or more instruments. The biggest considerations when shopping for a trumpet stand include the need for a compact design for travel or the environment and possible space constraints where it will be used.

K&M 5-LEG IN-BELL
The K&M 5 leg trumpet stand has become well known with both professionals and students alike. The compact design allows for storage in the bell of your instrument while it is in the case by unscrewing the metal leg base. The legs fold up and can be threaded back into the body of the stand for compact travel. A rubber bumper on the tip of the stand as well as felt pads protect from damage to the instrument.
One of the biggest benefits is this stand does not stick to the bell as other stands tend to do. The five legs also make this stand extremely stable.

HERCULES IN-BELL TRAVLITE (DS410B)
The Hercules In-bell trumpet stand provides another great option for a stand that can fit in the bell of an instrument during transport. By unthreading the center peg and folding the five legs, this stand becomes compact enough to fit in the bell of a trumpet during travel. The velvet lining on the base protects from scratching on the inside of the bell during use and travel.
The only potential negatives come from the ball at the tip of the peg. Some users have reported issues with this ball getting stuck in smaller bell flares, like those found on Eb, D or compact C trumpets.

HERCULES IN-BELL TRUMPET/ CORNET STAND (DS510B)
While this stand may not be the smallest for travel, the Hercules Trumpet/ Cornet stand is an extremely durable option. By unthreading the center Feng and folding the legs, this stand becomes more compact for transport. A unique feature of this stand is the adjustable velvet covered peg. This peg uses a height adjustment lever so the user can select the appropriate fit to the bell of the instrument.
This stand does hold the instrument higher off the ground than most in-bell options, making this idea for someone who wants to keep their instrument within reach. Some models include a carrying bag for ease of transport.

HAMILTON KB950
The Hamilton KB950 trumpet stand is not only one of the most affordable options, but has been used by professionals and students for quite some time. This stand can be adjusted for height and uses a spring cushioned peg, preventing small dings that may occur when the instrument is set down.
The base of the stand is a tripod style, and has legs similar to those found on a microphone stand. When not in use, this trumpet stand can fold up to fit into many gig backs and backpacks.

HERCULES MULTI TRUMPET/FLUGELHORN STAND (DS513BB)
The Hercules DS513BB Multi-Instrument trumpet and flugelhorn stand provides the same high quality found in the other Hercules products with the ability to hold multiple instruments. These stands are extremely stable, with one instrument peg on each of the three legs. These pegs can be easily adjusted with the height adjustment lever so each of the velvet covered pegs can be adjusted to properly fit the bell of each instrument.
This model comes with two legs designed for use with trumpets and cornets and one peg for flugelhorn. All three pegs can be unthreaded and the legs can be folded for ease of transport. The only potential downside to this stand is the limited adjustability of horn placement when in crowded areas such as theater pits or small rehearsal or performance spaces. Some models come with a carrying bag for ease of transport.
