TORPEDO CLASSIC
The Torpedo Bags "Classic" is one of the most protective single-trumpet cases on the market! The Classic is designed with a zipper opening at one end of the case that allows the trumpet to slide into a protective sleeve consisting of up to 3 inches of foam on each side of the horn.
Surrounding the foam is an extremely durable shell that is wrapped in 1680 Denier Ballistic black nylon.
Accessory storage options include a detachable music bag, detachable mute bag as well as removable lid pocket, perfect for mouthpieces or valve oil.
The case can be carried with a durable side handle, a shoulder strap or the attached backpack straps. At roughly six pounds, this case provides fantastic protection and versatility!
TORPEDO OUTLAW
The Torpedo Bags "Outlaw" provides many of the same benefits found in the "Classic" in a smaller and lighter-weight package. At only 3 pounds the Outlaw uses Torpedo's end-loading design. This design uses a lighter-weight shell option to cut down on the size and weight of the case, but does not provide the same protection as the Classic.
Two accessory carrying options are available with the "Chuckwalla" and the "Sidewinder," both removable bags that wrap around the Outlaw shell. The Chuckwalla combines a mute bag and music pouch while the Sidewinder is a specially designed suit bag that attaches to the Outlaw.
A Shoulder strap or carrying handle are the two options for transport, as backpack straps are not available.
PROTEC TRUMPET RECTANGULAR PRO PAC CASE
One of the more conventional trumpet case designs is the Protec Standard Pro Pac trumpet case.
The main compartment of this case features room for one trumpet with two mouthpiece slots as well as the accessory section. The biggest highlight to this case is the ability to carry accessories inside the case, such as mutes.
With diligent packing, two or three mutes will fit inside this section of the case. An exterior pocket provides additional storage space.
The Protec Standard Pro Pac case comes with a shoulder strap and carrying handle, and a set of backpack straps are also available.
GARD MID-SUSPENSION TRUMPET GIG BAG
While the Gard Mid-Suspension Trumpet Gig Bag appears to be a standard gig bag from the exterior, the interior has been designed to offer fantastic protection. As the name describes, a series of heavy-duty foam pads suspend the trumpet in the middle of the case, protecting from dings and even small drops.
A foam cone supports the bell from impact and helps to keep the trumpet in the suspended position. An exterior pocket provides room for smaller accessories like mouthpieces and valve oil but is not large enough to accommodate mutes or music.
Available in either nylon or leather, this gig bag provides a great option for a single trumpet case!
GLENN CRONKHITE SINGLE TRUMPET CASE
The Glenn Cronkhite gig bag is a stylish option for carrying one trumpet. This is the slimmest option we have discussed as it is designed to fit one horn with a small accessory pouch.
This accessory section is small, and may only allow storage for one mouthpiece and a bottle of valve oil. With one inch of foam, this case is not the most protective from hard impacts, but will provide a lightweight option for transporting your horn.
These cases are available in multiple materials including various colors of leather and nylon. These cases include a carrying handle and come with a shoulder strap. Not only are they extremely well-made, but just may be the most stylish option on the market!
MULTI-TRUMPET CASES

GARD COMPACT TRIPLE GIG BAG
The Gard Compact Triple Trumpet gig bag is one of the smallest triple cases currently on the market. These cases utilize Gard’s Mid-Bag Suspension System, a series of heavy-duty foam pads that suspend the trumpet in the middle of the case, protecting from dings and even small drops.
A foam cone supports the bell from impact and helps to keep the trumpet in the suspended position. By facing the horns in opposing directions, with the two outer instrument slots placing the bells at one end of the case with the center slot placing the middle horn in the opposite direction, three full sized trumpets can fit into a case that is not much larger than a backpack.
The padding is made up of dense, thick and impact resistant High-Density foam. Two exterior pockets allow for storage of thinner items such as sheet music. Carrying options include two handles located on the top and side as well as a shoulder strap that can be converted into backpack straps!
PROTEC VAX TRUMPET COMBO CASE
The Protec Mik Vax Signature case has become a favorite for those who need to travel with a trumpet and a flugelhorn.
Designed as a rolling case, this compact case meets the carry-on requirements for most airlines. A large exterior pocket can hold sheet music or accessories while the interior has movable foam sizing blocks to adjust the fit for smaller instruments..
When the attached handle and wheels are not being used, handles on the top and side of the case can be used for carrying this case.
STOMVI QUAD
The Stomvi Quad trumpet case has quickly become popular in the classical trumpet community for its ability to carry four full-sized trumpets in a small footprint.
With adjustable interior pads, this case can be quickly converted to carry one full-size trumpet, a flugelhorn with a bell up to 6.6 inches as well as a piccolo. This is achieved with the use of a padded sleeve that securely holds the piccolo trumpet on top of the flugelhorn. The exterior is built from a durable hard polimer shell that is small enough to fit in the overhead compartment on larger airplanes.
Quite a few accessories also come with this case including backpack and shoulder straps, a snap on/off music pouch and a mouthpiece case. Two exterior handles are found on the top and side of this case.
REUNION BLUES CONTINENTAL TRIPLE CASE
The Reunion Blues Continental Triple gig bag provides room to transport three full sized instruments in a compact gig bag. While not as small as others, this case provides ample room to carry horns and has become popular when carrying a trumpet, flugelhorn and mutes in the third compartment.
The exterior is constructed from Reunion Blues’ “Flexoskeleton” that includes reinforced impact panels. Exterior and interior pockets provide room for storage of small items but not as much as other cases.
It should also be mentioned that these cases feature one of the most comfortable handles. For other carrying options, a shoulder strap is also included.
PROTEC IPAC TRIPLE CASE
Another convertible option is the Protec Ipac Triple case and is available with or without wheels.
These cases can safely hold three full sized trumpets, or can be converted to hold one trumpet and a flugelhorn. A large exterior pocket with built-in organizer allows for ample storage of accessories as well as sheet music.
The shell of these cases is constructed from wood, creating a case that is relatively inexpensive but adds a slight weight penalty.
